Meet the Team

The people behind
Pilgrim Therapy.

A team of registered psychotherapists in Toronto. Different stories, one shared approach: real attention, real care, and real space to do the work that matters.

Brook Stacey, Registered Psychotherapist in Toronto's Beaches

Founder

Brook Stacey, RP

At 22, I walked 800 kilometres across Spain on the Camino de Santiago, searching for meaning, purpose, and direction. That pilgrimage changed the course of my life.

Twelve years as a Jesuit followed: theology studies in Paris and Toronto, and graduate training in psychotherapy along the way. The deepest thread through all of it is St. Ignatius of Loyola, whose Spiritual Exercises and practice of careful, discerning interior work still shape how I sit with clients today.

Alongside my practice, I teach religion at a Toronto high school. The two roles inform each other more than I would have guessed. Sitting with students who are asking real questions keeps the therapy work honest, and the therapy work keeps the teaching grounded.

Pilgrim Therapy was born from all of it, rooted in the conviction that healing happens when we find the courage to take the next step.

Therapist

Justin Keng, RN, RP (Qualifying)

Justin is a warm and caring presence who enjoys journeying alongside others as they build a life that is meaningful and worth living. Before pursuing his Master of Psychospiritual Studies at Knox College, he served as a youth mental health nurse, working with adolescents, families, and young adults to process traumatic experiences, complex family dynamics, and find a path forward even when things felt hopeless.

Justin is rooted in his own Christian community at Toronto Jaffray Chinese Alliance Church, where he serves as a Children, Youth, and Families Ministry deacon, a young adults small group leader, and a Sunday school teacher. Through campus ministry with Power to Change Students, he has been a discipleship group leader and personal mentor for young Christian men navigating questions of faith, purpose, and identity. He has served in both multicultural and ethnic-specific ministries, with particular care for the lived realities of children growing up in Chinese immigrant families and the dynamics that often arise between generations. He is happy to integrate Christian faith into sessions when a client or family asks for it.

During his MPS, Justin trained as a therapist intern at Community Counselling London and as a spiritual care student at St. Michael's Hospital on the Medical-Surgical ICU. Those placements shaped how he sits with patients and families through profound grief and loss. Through Scouts Canada, he has also served as a high ropes and climbing instructor, lifeguard, and youth leader.

Outside of sessions, Justin enjoys nature walks, cooking, gardening, and spending time with his wife and cat.
